I'm flying

Valerie (my fellow co-worker) and I are sitting in the San Francisco airport right now. I don't know about her, but I still can't quite grasp the fact that I am leaving for a foreign country in about an hour. It's pretty exciting. The flight here was good, except that I was sitting next to some very loving newlyweds. Their kisses were unusually loud. But now we're on our way to Japan and I only have to sit by Valerie. Hopefully I'll have some good pictures soon to make this a little more interesting.

I'm not going

I have decided to stay in Utah. One of the bands I like (My Morning Jacket), which I've really wanted to see live for a long time is finally coming back to Utah in November. If that wasn't bad enough, they were in Japan just a few weeks ago for the Fuji Rock Festival!! Ok, so that's not enough to change my plans for the next year, but what timing! I seem to be off lately- for example, I worked in Las Vegas during the SUMMER, and extremely-cold Logan, UT during the WINTER. And now it seems as if this band is just trying to avoid me. My life needs to be in reverse somehow. Well, I'm still excited to be leaving, and I still haven't packed. But I have a few days.

Getting Ready

I still haven't decided if I will actually keep this up, but I wanted to try it out just in case. I leave for Japan in 9 days. I don't know that it's hit me yet. Meaning I haven't packed, learned the language, cut off ties here at home, etc. So yes, this could be an interesting year for me. As nervous as I am to be going somewhere that is somewhat foreign to me, and going alone, I am also excited to be taking this step. It's been a while.
Anyway, I will soon be getting a camera, and assuming I can figure out the internet over there, I will at least be posting pictures. Let the adventure begin!
